Scenic City Wood Carvings Map!
The city of Iowa Falls has nearly 40 beautiful tree carvings, most of them of ash trees that have been plagued by the emerald ash borer. Many of the carvings were completed with funds raised during the 2022 Iowa Falls State Bank Barlow Challenge. The focus was on dead ash trees that were slated for removal due to the emerald ash borer plague.
Please enjoy the beauty that came out of such devastation for our community. As a reminder, carving sites sit on or near private citizens' property. Please show respect to the owners and land when viewing in person.
These various carvings can be found all around town, and here is where you can get the map to look for them. This map was created by Travis Gerrish, a resident of Iowa Falls. Please email Travis at [email protected] with updated carving locations or errors on the map. This map was last updated in July of 2025. Enjoy!
