Beef, Blades, and Basics Course in Iowa Falls
Learn the fundamentals of meat cutting in a real butcher shop. Iowa Valley Business and Community Solutions is partnering with Nimrod Meats in Iowa Falls to offer Beef, Blades & Basics, a five-session introduction to meat processing.
Participants will get hands-on experience with:
* Carcass breakdown
* Cutting and trimming
* Grinding and smoking
* Packaging and presentation
No experience is required. This is a small, focused class built for people who want to learn practical skills—not sit through a lecture.
* Tuesdays, Oct. 13–Nov. 10, 2026, 4–6 pm
* Nimrod Meats, 214 S. High St., Iowa Falls
* Cost: $399
* Class size: Limited to six students
* Register by Sept. 30
* Training takes place inside Nimrod Meats’ butcher and retail shop, giving participants an authentic look at the trade and the day-to-day work involved. Space is limited.
